With Christmas fast approaching (12 days away) I have compiled a list of just a few of my favourite gifting items

with free gift wrapping.
So if your looking for some inspiration with your gift shopping this year
 I hope the helps.

These Festive Baubles from the French brand L'Occitane caught my eye, as they have packaged

How does the Pharell Williams song go?
"Because I'm Happy"
Yes I'm very happy with this new addition to the
LUSH Snow Fairy collection.
Being rather a late member to the Snow Fairy Appreciation club,
feel that I'm well and truly on board with it now.
Last year was my first introduction to this candyfloss/bubblegum magic and if you
would like to catch up on that blogpost click on the link below.

The founder of Lush, Mark Constantine said
“Packaging is rubbish and for too long we've had to suffer excessive amounts of it,
now that the true financial and environmental costs are becoming obvious,
customers are challenging manufacturers and retailers to cut the wrap.
Companies like ours need to think out of the box and present customers with
innovations that allow them to buy truly naked products"

Currently 38% of Lush products are available in their naked form.
Unfortunately it's not just a case of removing the packaging on the shower gels (for obvious reasons) but LUSH have quite simple nailed it by re formulating their shower gels into a solid format that do not contain any soap base, they instead share most of the same ingredients as liquid shower gel.
The ingredient that makes them solid is sodium stearate, which is already used
in several, other LUSH products.
The inclusion of Propylene Glycol also reduces the growth of bacteria and ensures
that the product is self preserving, which is a "must" here in Durban as our
summers are extremely hot and oppressively humid.

The above being said, to me it still looks and feels like a solid soap and I'm excited
that it still delivers the same glistening, powerful fragrance and has even better
lathering qualities than the packaged version.

It's a huge hit with me, as it's so easy to use and there's no more
fiddling with caps and lids in the shower.
Due to it being double the concentration of the liquid version it lasts longer,
however I do recommend that you stand it on a
soap drainer to prevent a "soggy" NAKED bottom.
Price wise its coming in cheaper and of course there's no packaing to pay for
or discard of.

As always SNOW FAIRY is a range limited to the festive months and it literally
flies off the "Fairy" shelves, but they have several other fragrance options in the
Naked Shower Gels that are well worth checking out...

Available from LUSH stores worldwide and online

This is my last "Currently Under Review" post for the year and I find it hard
to believe that we will soon be heading into a new Year.
Will any of these products below make a last minute appearance onto my
"Best of 2017" lists, which by the way, will be up on my blog during January.

I can tell before I even try this product that I will absolutely love it,
just from its fragrance and concept alone. I became slightly obsessed with
the Snow Fairy Shower Gel from LUSH
last Christmas and being a limited edition for the holiday period only
I scheduled a visit to my local LUSH at the end of October,
when they receive the first drop of their Christmas offerings.
Not only did I stock up on 500ml bottles of Snow Fairy shower gel,
but I thought I would try their new Naked Snow Fairy Shower Gel (sans packaging)
and the Snow Fairy Body Conditioner, so expect reviews on both of these soon.

I recently purchased two nail polishes from the Swiss nail care brand MAVALA
and I received the MAVALA COLORFIX Nail Treatment product as a free gift,
so, as always I will put this colour extender to the test and let you know whether
its worth a buy or not.

I really enjoy using Micellar Cleansing Waters and I'm always on the hunt
for new ones to try.
The next Micellar Cleansing Water to go under review is a high end one

REN ROSA CENTIFOLIA 3-in-1 Cleansing Water

I'm a huge fan of the Micellar Cleansing Water from Garnier and for the money
I rate it highly, so lets see it the Garnier one remains my "fave" after
using this one from REN.

La Perla (The Pearl) is an Italian Lifestyle company, historically known for lingerie
and like so many fashion houses their inevitable fragrance was
created and launched back in 1986.
Despite having created 37 fragrances over the years, its a collection
that I know nothing about, so I was curious to try.

LA MIA PERLA (My Pearl) was very recently added and is the new "Pillar"
of the La Perla Collection and was created by a woman for a woman.

I must make mention of the sophisticated bottle, which is beautiful
with its Rose Gold La Perla "Pearl" cap and it's too stunning not have
 displayed in your room.

The fragrance is classified as a "solaroriental", which is a new classification
to me...and combines solar notes from flowers with oriental notes.
Another unusual facet to this fragrance is the circular composition as opposed
to the conventional pyramid.
The circular composition ensures that the fragrance remains
infinite and unchanged unlike a pyramid where the fragrance changes on the
dry down, as it transitions from it's top note to base note.

Notes of:

White Pepper
 musk notes
 and sandalwood

Make for a warm, hypnotic and rather heady fragrance, which for me is a
winter fragrance rather than a summer wear scent.
Unfortunately I found the musk notes too much, but as I've said on so
many occasions fragrance is a very personal choice.

Only available in the eau de parfum format it's definitely
for those lovers of an Oriental, long lingering, statement kind of
As claimed it doesn't develop with time on the skin and
I recollect many years ago MONTANA Blue also remained the same
and for its time it was quite unique feature.

How I wished online shopping was a "thing" twenty years ago when my children
were at school, but it wasn't and I remember all too well that frantic
last minute shop to buy teachers gifts before the last day of school.
Buying a gift for your child to give to their
teacher generally spans those years between pre primary and senior primary
and thankfully it's not cool in high school, which was fine by me...
I recollect the excitement of my two "kiddie winks" eager to rush off to school on
break-up day just so they could hand their pressie over to their (in most cases)
much adored teacher.

I was recently introduced to a South African website
that seems to answer all your gifting needs, its literally your One Stop shop for body
and bath, accessories and gifting solutions, so no more rushing from store to store.

The schools in South Africa break up for their long Summer holidays at the end of next
week, so head on over to their website and have all your gifting items
delivered to your door in a matter of a couple of days.

I have chosen several items that I personally love and I'm sure you'll
find plenty of gifts to suit your budget whether it be for the teacher,
stocking fillers or the office Secret Santa, so I hope this post will help inspire
any last minute buyers amongst you...
Good Luck and Happy shopping.

I'm on a bit of a roll with my Sunday Sample posts, as I have several new ones in my jar and seeing
it's the run up to Christmas I thought this recently launched fragrance sample called
would be a good one to try out this week.

As always the Christmas season is huge for
perfume sales and even for me, someone who has spent my whole career dealing
with fragrances, I still find the array on offer sometimes daunting and often confusing.
We are bombarded with advertising and promoters in stores eagerly waiting to spritz what's new on offer, that it can sometimes make for a rather unpleasant and expensive experience.
I did write a post several years ago that was aimed at males, but it can be just as useful
for females and I hope it helps to clear the fragrance mist...

Check back on Sunday to find out more about LA MIA PERLA.
